Telemedicine / Virtual Care at CMI

Telehealth at CMI  refers to the use of telecommunications technology, such as videoconferencing, phone calls, and secure messaging, to provide healthcare services remotely. It allows patients to receive medical care, consultation, diagnosis, and treatment from our healthcare providers without the need for in-person visits. Telehealth has gained significant prominence and adoption, especially in recent years, due to advances in technology and the need for remote healthcare access, as well as the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here are some key aspects of telehealth:
1.    Remote Consultations: Telehealth enables patients to have virtual appointments with healthcare professionals, including doctors, specialists, nurses, and therapists. These appointments can occur through video calls or even audio calls, allowing patients to discuss their health concerns, receive guidance, and receive prescriptions or treatment plans.
2.    Access to Our Specialists: Telehealth can bridge geographical barriers, allowing patients to access specialists and healthcare providers who may not be available locally.
3.    Reduced Travel and Wait Times: Telehealth eliminates the need for patients to travel to a healthcare facility, saving them time and reducing transportation costs. It also reduces waiting room times, making healthcare more convenient.
4.    Remote Monitoring:  At CMI , we have a number of different remote monitoring applications, that gather our patients' vital signs, chronic conditions, or post-surgery recovery activities. Most of our devices such as wearable fitness trackers or remote monitoring equipment can transmit data to healthcare providers in real-time.
5.    Prescription Renewals: Telehealth can be used for prescription renewals, allowing patients to request and receive medication refills without an in-person visit.
6.    Our Telemedicine Platform is considered to be secure and  HIPAA-compliant.

7.    Insurance Coverage: Many insurance providers and government health programs have expanded their coverage to include telehealth services, making it more accessible and affordable for patients.

At CMI, Telehealth has become a valuable tool in providing increased flexibility and accessibility to patients while also contributing to the efficient delivery of our medical services.
