As a board-certified cardiologist, Chirag Shah, DO, FACC, focuses on noninvasive cardiology and diagnostic cardiac catheterizations at Cardio Metabolic Institute, with offices in Somerset, Monroe Township, and East Brunswick, New Jersey. In addition to his cardiology expertise, Dr. Shah is also certified in internal medicine and nuclear cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Prior to his work at the Cardio Metabolic Institute, Dr. Shah served as the attending staff cardiologist at the University Medical Center of Princeton in Plainsboro, New Jersey, where he still affiliates at what is now known as Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center. He also has admitting privileges at Saint Peter’s University Hospital and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, both in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Dr. Shah graduated with highest honors from Rutgers University, obtaining his bachelor’s degree in biology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, located in Stratford, New Jersey, before completing his internal medicine and cardiovascular residency training at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he underwent fellowship training and later served as chief fellow.
While he enjoys all aspects of his work, Dr. Shah has a special interest in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.
